In 2017, my husband and I were fortunate enough to go on a work trip that took us to beautiful San Diego. Of all the places I’d wanted to visit, San Diego wasn’t really on my radar. However, I had enjoyed a trip to San Francisco a few years before and was excited for the opportunity to return to California and explore a new city.

If you’re planning a trip to San Diego and love art and history, reserve at least a full day to explore Balboa Park, and while you’re there dine at The Prado restaurant. I also highly recommend visiting the Maritime Museum on North Harbor Drive where you can climb aboard an 1860s ship.

San Diego did not disappoint. It was June and the weather was in the mid-70s and perfect. From the sunset cruise around San Diego Bay to Balboa Park to the Maritime Museum, I quickly fell in love with San Diego.
